It's not a gendered thing, in the UK—here, c*nt's just an ordinary, if fairly severe, exclamation/insult. In the US, I get the impression it's considered particularly insulting to women, for whatever reason.

As someone from the north west (the proper north west not just the north west from London but up on the England border) we very rarely say c*nt. Tw*t is usually as bad as it gets unless someone is being so ridiculously ignorant and stupid then we'd say 'stop being such a stupid effing c*nt and f*ck off''.
